Pure Pasture Turkeys do what they were born to do, scratch and peck to forage for food.

Our birds are outside, once they are old enough to handle the elements, where they roam our pastures, foraging for bugs and grubs in the soil.

They are also offered a non-GMO supplement from a local farmer friend, which contains grains like corn, soy, barley, and wheat.

Pure Pasture Turkeys are raised outdoors after they are strong enough to brave the elements (usually around 3-4 weeks) and rotated as needed across fresh pasture inside electric netting, raised with a Non-GMO feed supplement, and NEVER treated with antibiotics, steroids, or hormones.

All Pure Pasture Turkey is raised without vaccines, antibiotics or chemicals. They live outside with fresh air and sunshine once they are old enough to handle the elements and they are naturally healthy from birth to harvest.

FAQ: FRESH OR FROZEN - We freeze immediately after the harvest to lock in the freshness.  All Thanksgiving turkeys are raised in the current year, specifically for our Thanksgiving harvests that start in October.

Histamine sensitivities:  Our processing partner uses an air drying freeze chamber to bring the birds down to required temperatures before packaging. This helps reduce the amount of bacteria entering the package so the histamine issue is reduced or delayed (not sure which).

Truly Pasture Raised poultry is also higher in Omega 3s and those benefit your mast cells helping you to keep your histamine levels lower. It's important to know your farmer. People tend to use the "Pasture Raised" term a bit loosely.

The other key difference is Pasture Raised birds that have grown outside, on fresh pasture, in the fresh air and sunlight. We move our birds often so they are always on clean ground. It's a huge difference from the conventional farming methods used to produce grocery store meats.

We don't use any medications, chemicals or antibiotics here at our farm. We don't need them. When the animals have their intended and natural environment, they are prepared to live a healthy life without all the junk used to keep birds alive until slaughter on confinement style factory farms.
