Ingredients
Directions
Ingredients:
- 2 black cod fillets
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon mirin (Japanese sweet rice wine)
- 1 tablespoon sake
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon ginger, grated
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
Instructions:
- Marinate the Cod:
- In a small bowl, mix soy sauce, mirin, sake, sugar, garlic, and ginger.
- Place the cod fillets in a shallow dish and pour the marinade over them. Ensure both sides are coated.
- Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, or up to 2 hours for more flavor.
- Prepare the Grill:
- Preheat your grill to medium-high heat.
- Brush the grill grates with vegetable oil to prevent sticking.
- Grill the Cod:
- Remove the cod from the marinade, letting excess drip off. Reserve the marinade for basting.
- Place the cod on the grill and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until the fish flakes easily with a fork. Baste occasionally with the reserved marinade during cooking.
- Serve:
- Serve the grilled cod hot, garnished with fresh herbs or a squeeze of lemon if desired.
This dish pairs wonderfully with steamed rice and a side of sautéed vegetables. Enjoy your meal!
